He traveled extensively the Caribbean and places in the USA. He enjoyed playing golf, gathering people for barbeques or bonfires at Dan Camp, playing a game of pool or cribbage, riding his John Deere tractor and being at the lake. He loved his friends and family with a big sensitive heart. "Roger, Copy that." In life, Dan enjoyed living one day at a time, and not getting too far ahead of himself. He would organize tasks, work areas and creating lists on post it notes for Jack. He always tried to make work life fun while making those around him feel valued. At Pahl's Market, Dan was fondly called "Dan the Man." He enjoyed all the nuances of his work whether it was planting, harvesting, watering plants, selling Christmas trees, driving machinery, or making deliveries. After he regained his physical mobility, he went to work at Gardenview Greenhouse (Lakeville) and Pahl's Market (Apple Valley). He later owned his own flooring franchise FCI in Burnsville until an AVM (brain bleed) forced him to stop. However, Hurricane Hugo brought him back to Minnesota where he worked in sales at The Tile Shop and in management at Lumber Liquidators. As an islander, he held various jobs on the island over the years from teaching to construction. While living in USVI, Dan loved the Caribbean where he enjoyed the ocean, beaches, fishing, sailing, sunny weather, and pace of Crucian life. He taught in Minnesota and United States Virgin Islands. Dan completed his college education at St Cloud University earning a BS degree in science education. Dan went on to Augsburg College where he played college football and gained numerous lifelong friendships.

In conversations to this day, Dan's quick wit and humor applied Rudy's legendary phrase. "Power 44.'' Growing up, Dan played cribbage with his Grandpa Rudy, it was during one card game that Rudy shared this phrase. As a Jefferson Jaguar, he played varsity baseball and football. where he met Ted who became his lifelong "brother." They shared adventures together like BAA baseball, camping and fishing, trips to the boundary waters, and their famous garage time. Dan enjoyed his childhood in Bloomington. Survived by his soulmate Anne Gaasedelen, and sister, Cathy Bolin for whom Dan was her beacon. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Shirley brothers Bruce and David along with niece Andrea and Dusty Dog. Bolin, Daniel James 62, of Lino Lakes, MN, died on June 4, 2022.
